Swimming Canada has updated our international classification process. The new document replaces two current documents on our website with additional details on the ranking process we use.

Our goal is to make it as transparent as possible as to the method by which we select swimmers for our very limited World Para Swimming Classification spots.

Documents replaced are:

1. Guidelines for “R” International Sport Classification

2. Guidelines for “New" International Sport Classifications

New document is:
SWIMMING CANADA IDENTIFICATION, PRIORITIZATION, RANKING AND OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES FOR WPS CLASSIFICATION.

The purpose of this document is to outline the policy and processes by which Swimming Canada will nominate swimmers to World Para Swimming for the purposes of obtaining a Sport Class.

In addition to having the policy document on the website Swimming Canada will also publish a WPS Sport Class Evaluation Long List in the month of November of each year with revisions as required after each WPS Sport Class Evaluation Opportunity and as required after Canadian Level 3 Sport Class Evaluation Opportunities.

Natation Canada a mis à jour son processus de classification internationale. Le nouveau document remplace deux documents actuels sur notre site web avec des détails supplémentaires sur le processus de classification que nous utilisons.

IDENTIFICATION, PRIORISATION, CLASSEMENT ET PROCÉDURES OPÉRATIONNELLES DE NATATION CANADA POUR LA CLASSIFICATION WPS

Le but de ce document est de décrire la politique et les processus par lesquels Natation Canada nommera des nageurs à World Para Swimming dans le but d'obtenir une classe sportive.

En plus de publier le document de politique sur le site web, Natation Canada publiera aussi une Liste longue d’évaluation de classe sportive WPS au mois de novembre de chaque année avec des révisions au besoin après chaque occasion d'évaluation de classe sportive de la WPS et au besoin après les occasions d'évaluation de la classe sportive de niveau 3 au Canada.
